Classes
for adults
General information
Adult classes are for 2.5 hours per week; the number of weeks
per session, vary. Statutory holidays have been taken into
consideration in the scheduling. There will be no classes
on Victoria Weekend.
Introduction to pottery
This course acquaints the novice student in the basic techniques
of forming clay into hand built objects, and is the grounding
for learning to throw a pot on the wheel. In addition students
will learn how to decorate their work and apply glazes.
Beginners
(Introduction to pottery is a prerequisite for this course).
Students will learn the basics of centering and forming clay
into simple shapes, and more use of slips, glazes and other
decorating methods.
Intermediate
This course is designed for students to improve their throwing
skills, and develop the ability to throw larger pieces, and
make lids and handles.
Advanced
Students will develop the ability to create advanced and intricate
forms, matching sets of ware, and innovative approaches to
glazing and decorating.
• Mature students (60+) receive 5% discount.
Please note: Due to space limitations,
class and workshop attendees should pick up all completed
projects within six weeks of the final firing unless pre-arranged.
The Almonte Potters' Guild cannot guarantee that completed
pieces will remain in the studio after that date.

Group Sessions for Adults
You provide the group of people, we provide the guidance
and facility to work with clay. Good for socializing, ice-breakers,
and teambuilding get-togethers for groups, etc. Comparable
to Parties for Children.
The basic prices are $ 24.00 per person for a two-hour session.
There is a minimum charge of $ 88.00 per party.
