Classes for adults

General information
Adult classes are for 2.5 hours per week; the number of weeks per session, vary. Statutory holidays have been taken into consideration in the scheduling. There will be a four week break overthe Christmas holidays, and no classes on Thanksgiving, March Break, Easter and Victoria Weekend.
Introduction to pottery
This course acquaints the novice student in the basic techniques of forming clay into hand built objects, and is the grounding for learning to throw a pot on the wheel. In addition students will learn how to decorate their work and apply glazes.
Beginners
(Introduction to pottery is a prerequisite for this course). Students will learn the basics of centering and forming clay into simple shapes, and more use of slips, glazes and other decorating methods.
Intermediate
This course is designed for students to improve their throwing skills, and develop the ability to throw larger pieces, and make lids and handles.
Advanced
Students will develop the ability to create advanced and intricate forms, matching sets of ware, and innovative approaches to glazing and decorating.

• Mature students (60+) receive 5% discount.

Please note: Due to space limitations, class and workshop attendees should pick up all completed projects within six weeks of the final firing unless pre-arranged. The Almonte Potters' Guild cannot guarantee that completed pieces will remain in the studio after that date.
