Studio Use

With the instructors and technician(s), our studio potters form the solid base of the Almonte Guild of Potters .

The skills of our studio potters range from intermediate (people who've taken one or more introductory pottery classes) to highly skilled (potters, for instance, who used to run their own studio). As a studio potter you are expected to work independently, although, of course, you may certainly sollicit advice from your fellow studio potters.

The studio is open every day from 9am to 10pm, however studio time must be scheduled or shared as space allows during regular classes. Studio hours rented are valid for one year from purchase date.

As a studio potter, you contract with the Guild for a certain number of hours of studio time. Each contract is valid for up to one year. The fees charged are based on hours of use.

To avoid firing problems, you must use clay that you obtain through the Guild. The cost of clay is not included in the studio fee, and can be purchased from the Guild at $30 per 10 kg bag. The price of the clay includes firing of your finished work.
